XCottage Horizontal Diktat
Wrong Side of the Tracks Vol.1
Anarchy is order
These rules have been collectively decided by the current residents of Cross Cottage. They are made by free agreement and are open to change by the consensus of the residents (including future residents).
Please follow these rules before, during and after your stay.
By order of the management
Stay off the socials. We’d like Cross Cottage to be one of the few spaces that exists outside of social media. No photos/videos, exercise your memory. Keep it Underground you never know who might need it.
Cross Cottage is a completely vegetarian and mostly vegan house (apart from our feline comrades). Please don’t bring meat to the house and be aware that you’ll only eat meat-free meals during your stay. Let us know in advance of any dietary requirements.
At the Cottage, we eat together. You are very welcome to bring food to cook/prepare/share during your stay.
Cross Cottage is a non-smoking house. You’re welcome to smoke outside and there are lots of patios and outside spaces for smokers.
Cross Cottage is also the home of at least 2 cats who are in the house. Please be aware of this in case of allergies.
Please respect our neighbours, their needs and differences. Whilst we are off the beaten track, the core of the project is community – visitors to the Cottage as well as those who live and help us every day in the village and grounds. Strong communities negate the state.
Covid/Health Solidarity
We want to look after each other’s health by taking sensible and reasonable precautions. We’re in contact with members of the community who have health vulnerabilities – protecting them is a form of solidarity.
If you’re feeling unwell and suspect you may have Covid or similar symptoms, please think about your visit or let us know.
Economic Support
Every place has operating costs, here we make a great effort to provide what is necessary. A voluntary sum if you are able to contribute is £20 each for this event. 12/13.08.23
This corresponds to food, drinks, staying and other basic services such as energy, water, internet, council tax etc. If want to contribute in other ways, let us know and Thank you.
